Yerushalayim Torah Academy (YTA) is rising to meet the challenge of ensuring a successful absorption for new immigrants in high school.

Our primary goals are to promote a love of Torah learning, provide a high standard of scholastic studies, develop each student’s character, and help the students acclimate to Israel.


Dr Lisa Fredman


Dr Lisa Fredman is YTA’s principal. She has over 25 years of teaching and administrative experience working with English speaking youth. Her warm and approachable manner help her establish lasting connections with her students. Dr. Fredman received her B.A. from Stern College of Yeshiva University and her M.A. & Ph.D degrees in Bible from Bar-Ilan University.

Rivka Aminoff

Assistant Principal​

Rivka Aminoff is the YTA Assistant Principal and Director of the Penn Foster online educational program. She has a BA from London University and a Masters in Educational Leadership from the Hebrew University. Rivka has many years experience teaching and working with high-school students; both in mainstream schools and in programs for youth at risk. Rivka is enjoying her role at YTA and loves spending time with her students.

Shuvi Barzilay

Director of Extra-Curricular Activities​

Shuvi teaches Psychology and is the Director of Informal Education. She was born and raised in Yerushalayim. She received her BA in Psychology from the University in Ariel and her MA in Jewish Education from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Shuvi is a licensed tour guide and has been working at YTA since 2014.
